The curriculum at Dharani Vidhya Manthir is interdisciplinary and integrated, reflecting life as our students experience it. We offer an all-encompassing curriculum that balances academic rigour with the creative arts, sports and community service, while focusing on life skills of adaptability, ethics, critical thinking, problem solving and risk taking.
We cultivate new ways of thinking, seeing and processing ideas in children’s minds. Taking best practices from both contemporary as well as traditional tenets of education, we have custom-created a programme that is highly experiential, contextual, activity-oriented and based on multidisciplinary teaching approaches.
We recognize that children learn and express their intelligence in several ways beyond the conventional ones of the linguistic and mathematical. Language
The medium of instruction is English. Our regional language Tamil is compulsory in all classes from I to Class VIII. Hindi is compulsory from classes I to VIII.
Hindi is offered as second language from class VI onwards only for students who score A1 in Hindi in class 5 and obtain more than 60% in a separate test.
Fine arts
Craft, Music, Art, Painting and Home Science are creative expressions which help latent talents surface. Hence these subjects are incorporated in the curriculum.
Physical education
We follow the dictum “A healthy body nurtures a healthy mind”. Hence stress is laid on physical education. Ample opportunities for indoor and outdoor games are provided.
